Common questions

Dar es Salaam Shipping FAQs

How much does it cost to ship via Dar es Salaam?

It depends on volume, service type and final destination. Inland transit to a neighbouring country adds trucking and border costs. Request a free quote and we'll give you a clear figure.

Do I need a cargo tracking note?

Yes for some countries. The DRC requires a FERI certificate, and since February 2026 DRC import and transit documents must go through its GUICE single window. Burundi requires a BESC cargo tracking note. These must be arranged before your cargo is loaded. We'll check what applies to your destination.

How long does shipping take?

Ocean freight to Dar es Salaam typically takes several weeks, plus port clearance. Inland transit then adds days to a couple of weeks depending on the country and border.

Can I ship personal effects and household goods?

Yes. Personal effects and full household moves are core services, and returning residents may qualify for duty concessions depending on the country.

Can I ship a vehicle?

Yes. Each country sets its own rules on vehicle age, duty and inspection, so check with us before you buy a vehicle to ship.

Which Australian cities do you collect from?

We handle pickup and consolidation from Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane, Adelaide and Perth.

What documents will I need?

Typically a packing list, commercial invoice or valuation, passport or ID and the bill of lading, plus transit and import documents and any cargo tracking note your destination requires. We help prepare these with you.

Which countries do you deliver to from Dar es Salaam?

Tanzania, Zambia, DRC, Rwanda, Burundi, Malawi and Zimbabwe, by road from the port to your destination town.
